Isaiah 14: 12 - 15 God's Judgment, Satan's Fall

"How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! But you said in your heart, I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God. I will sit on the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, and make myself like the Most High. Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, to the recesses of thee pit."

This is what we know about the fall of Lucifer (Satan) from an exalted position in heaven to a brazen place in Sheol. Satan was glorious when in the company of God in heaven. But because he lifted himself up and become prideful, God judged him and cast him from his presence. It was because of pride also that Adam and Eve fell . They questioned the word of God and wanted to be like him. They too were cast off from the Garden of Eden. This is in contract to what we read about Jesus Christ in Philippians 2: 4-9:

But he did not try to remain equal with God. Instead he gave up everything and became a slave, when he became like one of us. Christ was humble; he obeyed God and even died on a cross. Then God gave Christ the highest place and honored his name above all others.

Daily Prayer: Holy Father, pride is an awful thing! Control my mind and my thoughts. Let me only boast about Jesus Christ who was crucified and gave his life so that I may live. This way I can be an heir to his righteousness and live in the house of the Lord forever! Amen.
