Matthew 11:20-24 the Time Has Come To Receive Jesus as Savior

Then He began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles were done, because they did not repent. “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had occurred in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the Day of Judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will descend to Hades; for if the miracles had occurred in Sodom which occurred in you, it would have remained to this day. Nevertheless I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the Day of Judgment, than for you.”

It can be said that sin is the author of many sorrows. When Jesus performed his miracles they were to make a point. The point being that God is among them! If one is in the presence of God and fails to turn from their sin, then what should God do? Jesus tells us that those who were with him and did not change will be judged more strictly than the wicked that never knew him. The purpose of Christ’s coming was to change lives and spare them judgment. That is the point. The same can be said of those who hear the gospel and do not receive it. Those will be judged harshly because they did not accept the Son of God who came to take away the sin of the world.

Daily Prayer: Lord, through the church, let every man, woman, and child heart the Good News, that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Let all come to repentance in this, the Age of Grace. In Jesus name I pray Amen.
