Then he showed me Joshua, the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. The Lord said to Satan "The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Remove the filthy garments from Joshua. I have taken you iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes." And the angel of the Lord admonished Joshua saying, "Thus says the Lord of hosts, 'If you will walk in my ways and if you will perform my service, then you will also govern my house and also have charge of my courts, and I will grant you free access among these who are standing here. I am going to bring in my servant the Branch. I have set a stone before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes. I will engrave the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of the land in one day.'"
God has ordained Joshua the high priest as his representative over his house and his people and has removed his filth and rebuked Satan to insure his fresh start. But hs sets a stone with seven eyes before him. Seven is a divine number and the eyes are to watch his progress. Then in a future time, he will send the Branch who is Jesus Christ. In him, all iniquity will be removed by his work from the Cross to take away the sins of the world. And Jesus will come again, this time to rule over his people.
Daily Prayer: Lord Jesus, we wait expectantly for your return. In the meantime, busy our time with the growing of our faith and in service to you. I pray in your name Amen.
