In Our Prayer, We Must Come Under The Authority Of The Cross

For whose sake do we pray? Is it our own or what is in the best interests of others? Possibly neither of these are our grounds for approaching the Father. The Father saved us by the blood of the lamb, we should then enter under Christ's authority and not our own. For whom does the Father save people if not for Christ? We can be righteously wrong in our approach to the Father. We tend to believe that if "we" consider our petitition for another to be "in their best interests," that the Father should agree. Sometimes we fail to understand God's providence and His timing. It is as the Bible says "all things come together for good to those who are called by God and according to His purposes."

Daily Prayer: Father, forgive our shortsightedness. We often times mean well, but we forget You are God. How silly we can be when we in our limited sight pray as if you don't have infinite sight and wisdom. Let us learn to speak to You about ourselves and others rather than about us or others.
In Jesus' name I pray Amen.
