2 Peter 2:1, 18-20 The way of righteous Vs. The way of sensuality

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. For speaking out arrogant words of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error, promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.

False prophecy means believing that which is not true and something that is true and dependable. In our society, sensuality is viewed as something that involves only ones-self and is a disorder that doesn't affect others. Nothing can be further from the truth. Treasuring ones own instincts for personal gratification is animal-like in nature. Humans are born in the image of God and with proper instruction can live apart from these animal instincts. Your mind and the Spirit within you discern good from bad, and virtuous from carnal. Therefore do not quench the Spirit, but instead learn from him to a life style of wisdom and honor.

Daily Prayer: Father, let my conscience be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit. Convince and convict me in your righteousness so that I do not shame either you or myself by acting out the enticements of this world. Send your holy angels to guard me in time of temptation and keep me from that which is forbidden. In Jesus name I pray Amen.
