1 John 1:5-10 God is Light

This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

In our lives, our struggle is not against flesh and blood. Instead our greatest struggles are against angelic and demonic forces which we cannot see with our eyes, but are undeniable. The holy trinity is master over myriads and myriads of angles. In the same way, the prince of darkness, Satan, the serpent of old has control over the demonic realm. Their difference is as great as night and day, black and white, good and evil, light and dark. You cannot eat at the table of the Lord and eat at the table of demons also. You might say, "I don't eat with demons," but every time you separate yourself from God that is your activity. The way in which you abide with God is by behaving in the light he has given us which was disclosed to us in his son Jesus Christ. Walk, abide, obey, and follow him, and you will spare your own eternal life.

Daily Prayer: Lord Jesus, by the Spirit that lives within me, grant me your grace to be close to you and the everlasting harm of the forces of evil. Let my life be one of working under your control, surrendering my will to yours so that in you, I will be safe from the judgment to come. In your holy name I pray Amen.
