Matthew 26:42-43 Jesus' Second Prayer

He went away again a second time and prayed, saying, “My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done.” Once again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.

Jesus in this verse totally surrenders to the will of his Father. Thy will be done is what Jesus concludes. And God’s will is that because He loves the world, He gave his only Begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. This is what Jesus has done. Because He loved us while we were yet sinners, He laid down His life for His friends. And He calls us friends, because Jesus did not come into the world to condemn it, but instead to save it. This way wherever He is, there we shall be.

Daily Prayer: Lord Jesus, let us make the personal decision to follow you and depend on you for reconciliation with God and forgiveness of sin. Also let us not grow weary of doing well, because that is your will for our lives. In Your Holy Name I pray Amen.
