Mark 1:14-15 Jesus Preaches in Galilee

Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Today we begin our journey of taking into account those words spoken by Jesus in the Gospel of Mark. The gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke are known as the synoptic gospels and the Mark account of Jesus life is the briefest of the synoptics. The central theme in Mark is the portrayal of Jesus as the Suffering Servant of God as originally presented by the prophet Isaiah. In today’s scene, Jesus has already been tempted by Satan and now begins his ministry in Galilee with his proclaiming the Kingdom of Heaven be near and a plea for repentance. Once Jesus came into the world, from that day forward we are in the latter days because God has made full manifestation of Himself through the Son. This is also known as the fullness of times.

Daily Prayer: Lord Jesus, Your name is called Immanuel, which means God with us. You are truly the full revelation of God and His exact image in human form. Let us learn from you and train ourselves to be like you and to raise up our children to know you and to fear you. In Your Holy Name I pray Amen.
