Luke 14:12-14 True Blessedness

And He also went on to say to the one who had invited Him, When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, otherwise they may also invite you in return and that will be your repayment.  But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,  and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
Many of us know that when we give with no expectation of repayment, that God will bless that motive.  But did you hear what Jesus says now?  He says that we will be blessed at the resurrection of the righteous.   We will be blessed in the presence of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  And in the presence of Job, Daniel and Elijah.  God desires to bless us in front of His whole family.  What a blessing it is for us to give with the hope of making another’s life whole.
Daily Prayer:  Christ Jesus, You make it fun to be righteous.  When we turn our dark heart to the light, the whole room is lit up and the glory of God shown.  Permit us to live our life this way.  In Your holy name I pray Amen.
