Luke 21:25-28 The Return of Christ

“There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,  men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.  Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.  But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
Jesus is explaining the end of the age to his disciples, even before He was crucified.  He notes that there will be a period of great tribulation before His return with even heaven being shaken.  People will be in distress at the time appointed for Christ to make a glorious return.  In my own mind I have wondered how all of the earth will know of Jesus return.  My perception is that Christ will fill the skies in every place before every nation. The Jewish people will recognize Him as the One who was crucified. To those who were anxiously awaiting Him, it will be a time of celebration, but to the ones who were acting as though there is no god, it will be a time of remorse and fear.  Regardless of our preparation He will return for the purposes of judgment and to reign from the throne of David as prophesied.
Daily Prayer:  Lord Jesus, we do not know the time of Your return, but we are looking for it.  Not because of our righteousness, but because of Your holiness, let us walk with You until You make Your glorious advent.  In Your holy name I pray Amen.
