“Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with
dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come
on you suddenly like a trap; for it will come upon all those who
dwell on the face of all the earth. . But keep on the
alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these
things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”.”
Now during the day He was teaching in
the temple, but at evening He would go out and spend the night on the mount
that is called Olivet. And all
the people would get up early in the morning to come to Him in the
temple to listen to Him.
Over the past two days, we
examined the sign of the times and understood that Jesus will come once again
to earth. Christians in particular are
zealous for His return but we have commented that nobody knows the day or the
hour of His return except the Father alone.
Many have searched the scriptures seeking to know the season of His
return and many have been disappointed. Jesus
tells us that many hearts will be weighted down, especially when they enjoin
the “troubles of this world.” We have
been given all the strength we need in the Person of the Holy Spirit who dwells
within the believer. With that beings
said, we must learn to call on our Advocate for the strength we need not to
fall away before the Master’s return.
Daily Prayer: Lord, you have
equipped me for this time before Your return.
It is said greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. Keep me mindful of practicing the accessing
of the Spirits power and let not me frustrate
His efforts to make me into the image
You gave us in the beginning. In Your
holy name I pray Amen.
