John 7:1-9 Jesus Teaches at the Feast

After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him. Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was near. Therefore His brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing. For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known publicly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.” For not even His brothers were believing in Him.  So Jesus said to them, My time is not yet here, but your time is always opportune.  The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil.  Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come.”  Having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.
In the gospels, the life of Jesus is told beginning with his time and works in Galilee with is the northern part of Israel.  As time moves on, there comes a pivotal part in the life of Jesus where He faces His face like flint for Jerusalem.  But in today's passages, we learn that Jesus avoided Jerusalem earlier on,  because His brethren longed to slay Him.  The text tells us that even His own brothers did not believe at this time.  This is why Jesus told us on the Sermon on the Mount that our battles will be those from our own household:  Father against son; mother against daughter; mother in law against her daughter in law and so forth.  And Jesus judged the world as evil which is the reason for His coming.  If left to itself, it would face the Old Covenant declaration for sin which is death.  But through Jesus Christ, the Anointed One of God, through the life of Jesus you can be saved and forgiven and be reconciled again with God.  But if you do not receive the Son of God, He promises a second and everlasting death.
Daily Prayer:  Lord Jesus, we live in the time of grace whereby enough has been said and written for us to know you are the True Son of God.  Grant us wisdom to cling to You and Your forgiving power so that we are not separated from You, but instead live in the House of God forever.  In Jesus name I pray Amen.
