Spirituality for the sake of character:

In our Christian life, we have high moments alone with God. Those high moments are not the end, but the means to the end. The anticipated result is a change in character. With a changed character, it gives us strength to walk through the valleys of life not for our own sake, but for the sake of others. This is the reason for our calling and election by God...to serve others.
