Phillipians 1:6 Your Purification or Sanctification is a work of God

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

This is a very important verse to memorize. Once you have been saved and become born of the Spirit, one anticipates a great change in one's behavior. It is supposed to become more Christ-like. It willl, but it is a process that takes the work of both the Holy Spirit of God and Jesus Christ to make complete. When you are saved, the Holy Spirit indwells you. That in itself, gives you a more sensitive conscience that your neighbor. But you will ask yourself, why are there areas in my life that are still led by the flesh? There will be times in your life where you attempt to change yourself with what is called "white knuckle" change. That is, you clench your fist and determine yourself to change, only to fail. It is on those frustrating days that you must remember this verse which says that you must trust the Holy Spirit to finish what He has started in you which will take your whole life-time. Once the Holy Spirit completes’ His work, you will die and come into the presence of Jesus Christ in an environment that knows no sin. It is there and at that time that Jesus will conform you to himself and make you acceptable to the Father. Praise God! Hallelujah!

Daily Prayer: Lord Jesus, I have learned that when it comes to sanctification, I need not look any further than the place of my salvation which is the cross. You told us that you would send a Helper, and Advocate, one like yourself to stand along side me and to help me. Thank you for the gift of the Spirit. In Him, he patiently brings me faithfully to you and makes me as good as I can be so that you can change me into your likeness. What a future I and other like me hold. Thank you in your holy name I pray Amen.
