In our day, God Almighty no longer comes to us by vision and dreams, but by words. Before a person knows Christ, these words are darkness and clouds. After coming into His presence, the are the light of the world. It is as the Apostle said, the word of God is foolishness to the natural man, but to he who is spiritually discerned, they are life. Do not seek for yourself the extraordinary miracles, but take for yourself the Word of God because it is by a word that we came into being.

I Must "Go Out" With Conviction

Trusting in God is one of the most difficult things to do because He does not tell you what He will do. What He does do is reveal Himself to you so that I go out with confidence and dependence on what He will do. This likens itself when the 12 disciples were sent out by Jesus without spare provision or ever a change of clothes. It is like the children of Israel starting their trek to Egypt without a spare pair of shoes. In the same way we must go out in the name of Jesus, trusting in Him to meet our every need.

My Best for His Glory
Do not think that giving my best for Christ's glory is either easy or natural. Our inbred individualism and self-centeredness can easily last a life time. You may be a Christian and will go to heaven but in heaven will you be satisfied to know that the life you led was not all about Christ alone? While salvation is a free gift of God, being close to Him requires much effort. Therefore set aside all earthly matters and yield to Christ who is our source of life.

The Christian life is all about the cross. Apart from the cross of Christ, there is no salvation. Tender mercies by ourselves to others, unless they draw people to the cross of Christ are without value. We are to preach Christ crucified so that the gospel may be known.

Faithfulness – Not Good Works

Our idea of faithfulness often times is not what God considers to be faithful. We think, I will be faithful to give, to serve, and to bless others. God says He wants the freedom to use us as He wishes, without explanation or complaint. Our trying to please God falls short of faithfulness, because it is done in the flesh and not in the spirit.

The Bible states “all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to his purposes.” For those who are in Christ, we need not worry about our circumstances because our Father in heaven will control them for good. Be wary of those who war against God. This is a fight that cannot be won. It is far better to war against God’s enemies in the world than he who is your Maker.

Rightly Divide the Word of Truth

For the gospel to be meaningful to someone other than yourself, it must be reconsidered and stated clearly and boldly in your own words. Always be prepared to give an explanation for the hope that you hold. Our call is not only to receive the word of truth, but to spread it to others. Therefore give time and effort into your own testimony as one called by God.
