Dec. 20, 2008
The Christian life is all about the cross. Apart from the cross of Christ, there is no salvation. Tender mercies by ourselves to others, unless they draw people to the cross of Christ are without value. We are to preach Christ crucified so that the gospel may be known.

Faithfulness – Not Good Works
Dec. 18, 2008
Our idea of faithfulness often times is not what God considers to be faithful. We think, I will be faithful to give, to serve, and to bless others. God says He wants the freedom to use us as He wishes, without explanation or complaint. Our trying to please God falls short of faithfulness, because it is done in the flesh and not in the spirit.

Know Thine Enemy
Dec. 16, 2008
The Bible states “all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to his purposes.” For those who are in Christ, we need not worry about our circumstances because our Father in heaven will control them for good. Be wary of those who war against God. This is a fight that cannot be won. It is far better to war against God’s enemies in the world than he who is your Maker.

Rightly Divide the Word of Truth
Dec. 15, 2008
For the gospel to be meaningful to someone other than yourself, it must be reconsidered and stated clearly and boldly in your own words. Always be prepared to give an explanation for the hope that you hold. Our call is not only to receive the word of truth, but to spread it to others. Therefore give time and effort into your own testimony as one called by God.

How do you know God’s approval?
Dec. 14, 2008
When it comes to God, you are either with Him or against Him. When we obey, we are with Him. As a result of our obedience, He gives us His peace. When we are against him and try to serve two masters, then there is no peace in the home, only strife. Even if we obey, we will still encounter problems, but not ones that take away the peace of God.

Intercession and not Sympathy
Dec. 13, 2008
If a person truly believes in the resurrection of Christ, then too you will be able to intercede for the lost. Intercession is not sympathy for another’s plight. It is taking on the mind of God by bringing this issue before Him, knowing He will do something about your prayer. Can not the God Almighty handle whatever you bring to him in the name of Jesus? So then go, and be His representative and do the work of God.

Personality, Individuality & the Total Man
Dec. 12, 2008
A patch of land in the sea is called an island, yet underneath that patch of land it maybe that this land is the peak of a mountain. This is how vast our personality is. Only our Creator knows its depts.
Individuality, on the other hand, is characteristic of our outer man. It is what makes us unique from all others, yet not in conformity to our Maker like personality.
The love of Christ is what merges the two. It’s what allows the inner man and the outer man, our personality and individuality to merge into submission to our Savior who is Jesus Christ.

Individuality vs. the Inner Man
Dec. 11, 2008
It is our individuality that keeps us from coming forth in the spirit filled life. Our hard outer shell is not who we are. God allows this rebellion for a time, because that outer shell rejects everything and favors self-will. When the time comes for salvation, God pits this outer man with our inner man and insists on surrender to Himself. Only then can we develop and become a child of God.

The Divided Life
December 10, 2008
First, there is the natural life that we were born into. Then, there is the spiritual life that can be obtained only through obedience to God’s commands. The spiritual life is foolishness to the natural man because he is not spiritually discerned. We are not saved by obedience, however, but through the cross of Jesus Christ. So then why the obedient life? It is because God can not work through you if you do not or cannot obey him. Whenever someone believes in Jesus, but does not sacrifice his own self, the result is a divided life and that life cannot prosper apart from discipline and obedience.

The Road to the Supernatural
Dec. 9, 2008
The battleground for those seeking to follow Jesus is in the ability to surrender ones will. The natural life is not always sinful, but the supernatural life involves self-sacrifice. The reasons for giving up of ones own a right is to be the choice ones of God. These are the ones whom God can work His purposes through. Had Jesus not laid down his life, He could have still lived a perfect sinless life, but He would have not fulfilled God’s calling for Him. Therefore, walk by the Spirit and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.

Our Righteousness by Right Standing
Dec. 6, 2008
The reason that God hears our prayers and forgives our sins is not because we plead with Him to do so, it is because of a right standing before God. Right standing cannot be gained in our own strength. The Cross of Jesus Christ is the only sufficiency that we can claim before a Holy and Everlasting God. Priests and prostitutes have right standing in the same way. Apart from Jesus, it is impossible to please God. All are invited to live with God so long as we are rightly related by belief in the Son of God.

Work Out Your Own Salvation
Work out your own salvation
Work out your own salvation. What does that mean? It does not mean that you can work for your salvation, because Christ’s work on the cross is the only finished work that brings salvation. What it does mean is that if you are a follower of Christ, you will dedicate yourself to His greater cause and also realize that one’s own body is the temple of the Spirit of God. As such, one must treat it as holy. We are to present ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to our Lord.

Do Not Mistake Yourself
If I wholeheartedly believe in God’s redemptive power, I will never mistake power that is derived from me verses power given to me by God for his purposes. The Apostle once said I must preach lest I be accursed, what he is saying is that God is using him so he must obey. God alone can create new life in us.
